After School Club: Wind Down Den
Every Friday afternoon in term-time, 4pm to 5:15pm.
The transition from a structured school week into the weekend can be overwhelming. "Friday fatigue”, masking, and sensory overload often leave children exhausted by 3:30pm. The Wind Down Den is a specialised after-school club explicitly created to bridge that gap and help children decompress.
How We Help Children Decompress:
Our sessions prioritise emotional regulation, relaxation, and low-demand interaction:
Soothing Sensory Tools: Dimmed lighting options, quiet corners, weighted lap pads, and calming visual setups.
Lego Therapy & Structured Play: Low-stress building and creative activities that encourage calm focus without social pressure.
Gentle Crafts & Mindful Activities: Unstructured art stations where children can unwind without right or wrong answers.
Predictable Routines: A calm, consistent structure that helps ease anxiety after a busy school week.
Key Benefits for Your Family:
Eases the "Friday Crash": Helps prevent post-school meltdowns by giving children immediate sensory relief after home-time.
Low-Demand Environment: No mandatory group tasks, children choose whether they want to socialise, play quietly, or simply rest.
A Calmer Weekend Start: Helps turn Friday evenings into a peaceful, positive transition into the weekend or half-term.
