We have been working hard to bring you personalised SEN-friendly and inclusive services.
Sensory Saturdays
Our SEN Stay-and-Play's!
Sensory Saturdays are weekly themed stay-and-play sessions, held at the Jubilee Community Centre in Norwich (Long John Hill, NR1 2EX), these sessions run on Saturday mornings from 9:45am-12:00pm.
They are designed for children aged 2–12 for stay-and-plays to engage in play that supports fine motor, gross motor, speech, social skills, and emotional regulation. These sessions offer a sensory-informed, inclusive environment, with structured but flexible activities, lots of support, and a community feel.
Discovery Days
Learning through play!
Discovery Days with Autism Explorers supports home-educated and flexi-schooled children with specialised learning-through-play sessions held every Friday. These sessions are designed to provide meaningful, structured learning opportunities while relieving some of the pressure parents and carers often feel when educating their explorers at home.
Each Discovery Day follows a hands-on, child-centred approach and connects to the theme of our weekly Sensory Saturdays. This creates continuity, familiarity, and deeper learning, allowing children to explore concepts in multiple ways across different contexts.
Our goals are rooted in developing life skills, basic learning foundations, and practical understanding through sensory-informed, interactive activities. Whether through creative workshops, real-world tasks, problem-solving challenges, group discovery play, or thematic exploration, every activity is designed to nurture confidence, independence, communication, and curiosity.
Discovery Days offer a welcoming, pressure-free learning environment where children can thrive at their own pace, and where parents and carers feel supported, not overwhelmed. It’s a chance for explorers to build knowledge through doing, experimenting, and connecting with others in a calm, inclusive setting.
After School: Wind Down Den
Supporting Transitions through the Wind Down Den!
At Autism Explorers, we understand that the move from school to the weekend or half-term can be overwhelming for children with additional needs. Our After School: Wind Down Den is a specialised after-school provision designed to bridge that gap.
Our sessions prioritize emotional regulation and relaxation. By combining sensory stations, Lego therapy, and calming crafts, we create a predictable and safe inclusive space where every child can decompress at their own pace.
Let us help turn "Friday fatigue" into a calm, positive start to the weekend or half-term break.
1-to-1 Sessions with Autism Explorers
Therapeutically informed private 1-to-1 sessions.
Autism Explorers provides private 1-to-1 sessions for children who may benefit from extra or more tailored support. These sessions are therapeutically informed and led by experienced team member who understands autism, SEND needs, and the way individual children learn and engage.
Focus areas of 1-to-1 sessions include: fine-motor skills (e.g. handwriting, scissors, coordination), attention and focus, emotional regulation, understanding of autism, speech and language development, and play-based activities supporting social interaction, imaginative play, and joint attention. These are especially suited for children who may find group settings overwhelming or who need a quieter, more tailored approach to developing skills and confidence.

Trips, Events & Workshops
All year round SEN-friendly and inclusive!
Autism Explorers organises SEN-friendly trips, events and workshops, beyond their regular Sensory Saturday Stay-and-Plays. These are aimed at giving children and their families inclusive, sensory-aware, social and fun experiences.
Activities during trips, events and workshops may include accessible outings, sensory-friendly environments, and manageable group sizes. These are designed to suit a broad range of ages, abilities, needs and to reduce stress often associated with typical events or crowded public spaces.
The variety of trips, events and workshops ensures families have access to inclusive opportunities all year round, not just during weekends but also in holidays, offering stimulation, social connection, and supportive environments.
